Since 1992, Atarikoi has been sharing the beauty of high-quality Japanese Nishikigoi (koi fish) with Malaysia. What began as a small family business founded by Robert Gan, driven by his deep love for koi, has grown into one of Malaysia’s largest Nishikigoi importers.

Happy Clients
From day one, Atarikoi has been fueled by a simple passion — to share the joy of koi keeping with others. Over the years, we’ve built close relationships with Japan’s top breeders, including Sakai, Omosako, Dainichi, Hosokai, Izumiya, Momotaro, Matsunosuke, and more.
Our goal is to make koi appreciation accessible to everyone — offering koi that range from affordable selections to premium show-quality fish, so every hobbyist can experience the same excitement that started it all.
When Robert Gan, founder of Atarikoi, first started his business at Taman Desa, Old Klang Road, he also nurtured his eldest son, Andrew Gan, from a young age — inspiring him with the same passion for breeding and caring for koi.
In 2008, upon Robert’s retirement, Atarikoi was passed on to Andrew Gan as his successor. With over 30 years of experience in koi keeping, Andrew decided to expand the business to a new and larger location at Tropicana, Petaling Jaya, to reach a wider market and better serve koi enthusiasts across Malaysia.
Atarikoi is committed to nurturing Malaysia’s koi community by providing:
- Top-quality koi and pond products
- Professional guidance and trusted information
- A shared appreciation for the art of koi keeping
We look forward to building a community where the beauty of koi is cherished, appreciated, and admired by everyone.
